Shipwrecks are generated structures that appear in the Abyss world.

Generation

Shipwrecks only spawn between 2,000 and 9,000 feet deep, they do not appear in the bottom-most layer of the Abyss. There are 3 variations of shipwreck, from smallest to biggest.

RoomPlan D

All of the possible rooms in each variation.

Each shipwreck has a given variation of 1, 2 or 3. If the variation is 1, it appears as a small ship with only four different rooms. Next to no treasure is found in this type of wreck.

If the variation is 2, it'll spawn in Layers 3-5. It has a total of eight rooms, including the four that appear in the first variation. The appearance of the wreck is big and has two masts sticking out of it. Treasure can be found in certain rooms within chests.

The third and final variation only spawns in Layer 5 of the Abyss, but will not spawn at depths greater than 9,000 feet. It has a total of eleven rooms, including all of the rooms from the previous two variations. Only one room in the wreck will have the boss, a Megasephalon. The appearance of the wreck is massive, with multiple masts sticking out of the top and edge of the bow, with additional rugged flags and rust. Treasure can be found in almost every room within chests, but the locked treasure chest is located in the boss room. The boss must be defeated in order to obtain the key to unlock it.

Access

To gain access into a Shipwreck, one must first obtain Diving Gear. Attempting to explore the Shipwreck without Diving Gear will result in the player losing 1 HP every five seconds while being shrouded in darkness.
