Serperannus is the first boss in Jetshift. He appears at the end of World 1, underground below the cave.

Appearance

Serperannus appears as a green worm with light-green scales, red eyes, brownish tongue and white fangs with venom on the tips. The Snake Babies appear as a red variant of Serperannus, but with pink eyes, gold fangs and a light-pink tongue.

Fight

Phase 1

Three Snake Babies will spawn when the level is entered. All of them have to be killed before Serperannus can be fought. Snake Babies will only attempt to ram the player.

Phase 2

Serperannus will be summoned and like the Snake Babies, will only attempt to ram the player. He is reasonably slow on Normal, but on Expert and Master, he is significantly faster. This is all he does throughout the fight with no ranged attacks.

Phase 3

When Serperannus's HP falls to or below 1/4 full, he'll stop taking damage and resummon the Snake Babies. The Snake Babies have to be killed before Serperannus can take more damage.

Notes

• Snake Babies and Serperannus share the same speed, meaning the babies will not be faster or slower than Serperannus is, regardless of difficulty.

• Although Serperannus (and the Snake Babies) can be instantly killed with high-tier guns, they cannot be killed using Slaughter EX or another item that would insta-kill the boss/worms. If attempted, a message will appear.
• It is possible for one of the Snake Babies to get stuck inside of Serperannus, making it nearly impossible to kill them. The only solution to get around this will be to use a Life Drain or a weapon that can pierce enemies.

Lore

Worms, they have always been hated, as they should, they spread nothing but death through their rampages in the Destart dimension. Serperannus is no exception, born and raised in a small camp of 20 on the southern-most boarders of Slayers Valley, he soon found the darkness of King Edrol and now loyally follows him as his personal servant. The Destart dimension, lifeless is the only way to describe it, the only life to be seen are the worms, they are the sole reason for the death and hatred that covers this dimension.
